CNY Arts engages with educators, school administrators, teaching artists and students from grade school to college to provide opportunities for arts education in our communities, schools and universities across central New York.
CNY Arts Programs that focus on Arts Education
The purpose of the program is to support young people in grades 7-12 in their artistic development by giving some financial assistance in Advanced or Ongoing Study or Summer Intensive Programs for young, gifted students who are already in training, and to benefit beginning students by increasing their exposure.
STAR Training is a pilot program for Teaching Artists in central NY. STAR Training Teaching Artists are artist-educators looking to deepen their practice and enhance the marketability of their work through professional development, networking, and developing a Central NY Teaching Artist Sharing Network.
With Dasher's Magical Gift, CNY Arts continues its 36-year long tradition of providing an educational and affordable production filled with colorful characters, ample doses of humor, and holiday magic for students and schools throughout Central New York.
The Consortium's mission is to: Enhance academics in the arts through the exchange of information and cross-pollination of ideas; Support arts faculty by fostering regional planning and collaboration; and Work in conjunction to strengthen opportunities for arts students to learn and work in the region both during and after graduation.
