Frequently Asked Questions
I have submitted applications to CNY Arts before using GO Grants Online. How do I retrieve my prior year application data?
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org and request the Application History, please indicate which grant program, which year, and the name of the applicant organization. We may need more information if you filed under another email address or username. It's best to provide as much information as you can in the first request. You can expect your data to be sent to you within 24 hours.
Are fundraising events considered eligible for support from CNY Arts?
Unfortunately, CNY Arts grants do not cover fundraising and party events. For a full listing of eligible expenses, click here.
Does my 50% match have to be with eligible expenses?
No, but you must clearly indicate that another source is specifically covering those costs. No expenses should be for NYSCA funded agencies.
What expenses are supported by CNY Arts Grants?
Please see a list of our eligible expenses.
How do I submit multiple applications with one account?
You must submit an application one at a time. In order to submit two applications, for example, you must first submit one, and then you can open a new application. If you have applications in multiple categories (i.e. Community Arts and Arts Education), you can have one application per category in progress at the same time.
How should I calculate my artist fees?
You may use the Wage for Work calculator as a tool: http://wageforwork.com/calculator/
I am an out of county artist, am I eligible to be a direct applicant?
Artists providing activity in a county they do not permanently reside are eligible for Community Arts or Arts Education ONLY WITH A FISCAL SPONSOR. The fiscal sponsor must be an eligible nonprofit residing in the county of activity. The fiscal sponsor MUST be the applicant organization and receive the funds on behalf of the artist as a pass through. The Fiscal Sponsor is responsible for paying the artist the grant award and issuing a 10-99 if applicable. The Fiscal sponsor may take an administrative cut of the grant. They also must submit a Fiscal Sponsorship agreement indiciating the terms of both parties. A template is available above.
If you have questions about the Decentralization Grant Program, please send an email to email@example.com. The response will be emailed to you within 24 hours and posted on this FAQ page shortly after. Thanks!
