Y LOGO CNYARTS

The Arts Branch of the YMCA was founded in late 1999 with a mission to enrich lives through education in the visual, literary, and performing arts. Since then, we have grown tremendously, and now serve thousands of Central New York residents each year through our arts education programs.

Current programs include:

* The Downtown Writers Center, CNY's only community center for the literary arts, featuring over 60 creative writing workshops each year and over 20 visiting author readings.

* Music Lessons at all YMCA branches: piano, voice, guitar, violin and more, for all ages and experience levels.

* The East Area Family YMCA and Northwest Family YMCA Art Studios, featuring a wide array of courses and workshops for all ages, with a focus on pottery and ceramics.

* Y-Arts Camp at the East Area Family YMCA, Camp Iroquois, and the Northwest Family YMCA.

* The YMCA After School Arts Program, serving over 900 students daily through our partnership with the Syracuse City School District.
