Santa visits the blog!

It's Dasher time at CNY Arts, and we are so excited to present "Dasher's Magical Gift" for the 4th year! This is an important holiday tradition to us and many families in New York that began in 1979 when "The Adventures of Rudolph" premiered. We love the magical memories that these shows have created and are proud that both of these shows are 100% a labor of talent and love from right here in Central New York!

Today, is a VERY special day! We get to hear from Santa!!!! He has some very important thoughts he wanted to share.

HO HO HO boys and girls! I am Santa Claus and am so excited to see you all at Dasher’s Magical Gift!

I have a very important responsibility as the CEO of bringing Joy and Merry to children everywhere. Although delivering presents on Christmas Eve to all the girls and boys is a full time job, I love being in Dasher’s Magical Gift. Dancing with all the hard working kids makes me feel young and spry again. I have been at this for a couple of centuries now and need to stay limber! And that Pepper steals my heart every time. She really is the cutest thing and does save the day! So, I fly to Syracuse on my sleigh from where I live, at the North Pole (with Mrs. Claus, of course). My favorite parts of the show is when Dasher realizes the Spirit of Christmas (you have to see the show to see the amazing thing he does) and getting to meet all of you kids who come to see us sing and dance!

To make sure I am ready and it is special for all of you, I make sure to get plenty of practice because practice makes perfect. So, Mrs. Claus, the elves and I clear out the workshop once a week to dance away! Mr. Crabtree who is the Director/Choreographer for the show sends me notes so I can keep up to date on all the happenings here in Syracuse.

After Dasher’s, I get everything done for Christmas Eve then come to all of your houses to deliver presents. Remember those cookies!! Did you know that ‘cookie’ was my first word as a baby? (Just so you know, I love all cookies but Fig Newtons are my favorite ) After Christmas is done, Mrs. Claus, the elves and I take a little time off to celebrate New Years then get back to work for the next big day!

While I am gone, a very fine local fellow, Dustin, rides the Sleigh back up and makes sure everything is going well. He is a good man and knows how to count things so is a good person to have at the Pole! He even fits into my clothes! I only have one Red Santa Suit, though! That is what I wear everyday (and it magically cleans itself every night while I sleep).

My favorite part about Christmas is the feeling of joy and spirit that lets us know that we can all make the world a better place with a little act of kindness to someone we love.

Before I go, please remember this, YOU are the most special person in the world because there is no one else quite like you. Be the best that you can be and Santa will always love you.

See you soon girls and boys and remember to cheer as loud as you can for Santa!!!

To see Santa and all his friends dancing on our stage VERY soon, visit for tickets and information!
