The Arts Branch of the YMCA was founded in late 1999 with a mission to enrich lives through education in the visual, literary, and performing arts. Since then, they have grown fast, and we now serve over 6,000 Central New York residents each year through our arts education programs.

Current programs include:

* The Downtown Writers Center, CNY's only community center for the literary arts, featuring over 60 creative writing workshops each year and over 20 visiting author readings.

* Music Lessons at all YMCA branches: piano, voice, guitar, violin and more, for all ages and experience levels.

* The East Area Family YMCA Art Studio, featuring a wide array of courses and workshops for all ages, with a focus on pottery and ceramics.

* Y-Arts Camp at the East Area Family YMCA and Camp Iroquois.

* The YMCA After School Arts Program, serving over 900 students daily through our partnership with Say Yes to Education.

* Coming in 2015: The Arts Studio at the new Northwest Family YMCA in Baldwinsville!
