Baseball Meets Art at Tech Garden

WHAT: A public call for an exhibit of artworks inspired by, depicting images of, or using objects & items from the American pastime, BASEBALL. Love the sport or not, baseball is ingrained in our shared cultural identity, we want to see what your visual mind can create using the subject as a departure point, and the more demented the results the better. Don't like baseball? Then we really want to see what you have to say about it!

WHERE: The Gallery at The Tech Garden, 235 Harrison St. Syracuse NY 13202

WHEN: The exhibit will run from Monday August 17 through Friday October 2nd, with a reception event starting at 5pm on Thursday August 20th.

WHO CAN SHOW: Anyone may submit artworks for the exhibit! Artists are invited to submit up to five works for consideration with a maximum dimension of 48 inches on any one piece.

WHAT CAN THEY SHOW: All medium are welcome! including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, collage, sculpture, found object/assemblage, multimedia, video/film and performance. 3d/sculptural artists will need to provide their own pedestal or supporting structure for their works to be displayed on, and please keep in mind that all artworks are displayed at the risk of the artist. Entries will be informally juried to ensure those artworks which are placed in the exhibit are on theme & acceptable for an all-ages audience.

WHAT DOES IT COST: There will be a non-refundable $10 gallery fee required from all participants due at artwork dropoff to help provide for promotional printing and reception beverages.

WHEN IS THE ARTWORK DUE: Works may be brought in person to The Tech Garden starting Monday July 20th during their regular business hours of 9am to 4pm Monday thru Friday. All artworks intended for the exhibit must be in the gallery by 5pm on Friday August 14th, no exceptions! Artworks must be wired or otherwise ready for hanging upon delivery, and any specialized installation methods needed will be the responsibility of the artist to perform.

WILL THE ARTWORK BE FOR SALE: Yes! if the artist wishes. The Gallery will ask a 10% commission on any sales so please keep that in mind when determining your pricing.

WHEN IS ARTWORK PICKUP: Unless other arrangements are made all unsold works should be removed from the gallery by 5pm Friday October 9th. Any unclaimed works will be discarded 30 days after the exhibit closes.
